Box Car Project - 1997 - 1998
June 14, 1997. Boxcar unloaded and stored at 73 James Street.
The Boxcar was moved to 73 James Street and unloaded from the truck. For the next few days the car was blocked so that it would be stable. Every few weeks a little more of the bow of the car would be removed until the car was fairly level. Removal of the cypress siding began in January of 1998. It soon became apparent that not only would the two ouside floor joists have to be replaced, but also the two top plates were rotten and would have to be replaced. By the end of January all of the siding had been removed.
